Kathys Lecture, 10/1

ART!
-to create art, organize principles: point, like, shape, color, value, space, texture
-repitetion- dosent mean the same all the time, but similar things over and over: in repitetion these hast o be something different, otherwise without that little difference you would just get one continuous line or sound or whatever the case may be. Ex: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ vs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*negative change is a focal point

-when artists play in the realms of monotony and chaos, they have to be very careful and do everything intentional or else it will probably come out like crap
-playing with balance can be very interesting sometimes.
-different types of balance: radial, formal, approximate, assymetry
-balance can be created by: color, size, texture, ect
-Art always forms across genres
*Robert Morris crossed alot of genres through sound, sculpture, installation, and performance art.
-scale, proportion, economy and dominance are also important to repitetion

then i googled Tara Donevan:
paper plates and glue
glass
